More than one-third (36 percent) of survey respondents cited the
work schedule as the reason for becoming a school bus driver, while
nearly as many (33 percent) said that “other” factors
were the primary reason for their decision. Fifteen percent cited
benefits and 11 percent said pay was their motivation. Just 5 percent
said they became school bus drivers because it was the “only
job around.”
